  • Understand how you are invested: Way too many people don't know where their contribution dollars are going and how they are being invested. 

  • Make changes according to life changes: You may have experienced major life changes since you started your job and 401(k). Reanalyze your risk tolerance and make the appropriate changes.

  • Take advantage of regular employee meetings: Many employee sponsored retirement plans offer regular meetings. Use these to make necessary changes or ask questions.
